Jean Minier, new Federal Director Technical

The Ministry of Health and Sports named Jean Minier, new National Technical director of the Disabled French Federation, on proposition of his president Gérard Masson. He succeeds Christian Paillard, who occupied this office since 1997, the retirement of which will be actual on September 1st of this year.



An expected appointment

Jean Minier's candidacy at the post of DTN was supported by the Disabled French Federation which congratulates itself on its appointment, by the voice of his president Gérard Masson: « Succeed Christian Paillard who so much brought to our action is not easy thing, Jean Minier, by his experience of the Sport for people with disabilities at the highest level, his knowledge of the handicaps and his personality already appreciated by all, will be an asset to begin the changes which we already draw for the future of our movement »
The objective for Jean Minier will be to drive the sport for physically handicapped persons and sensory, in front of big challenges of the integration, in the respect for the ministerial orientations, in particular by contributing to perfect the excellent sports for the sportsmen of height-level, by staying in the service and in the listening of the followers and the technicians who animate and will animate our movement tomorrow.

A course of height-level

Fifteen years of practice of the athletics in competition brought Jean Minier to become educational Physical Professor and sports. In parallel, he puts voluntarily a lot as to entraineur with the French team of disabled athletics from 1988, then integrates the Disabled Committee of Hauts-de-Seine in 1991, as Representative. After his success in the Sporting teaching profession, the option sports technical adviser, he is given to the Disabled French Federation as National Trainer in 1996.
For 13 years, he exercised various offices within the Federation. The athletics being its discipline of preference, it is named first of all Technical director of the discipline and national trainer from 1996 till 2000, then becomes Director of the Department high level and competitions of 1996 until his appointment as DTN.
His recognized expertise of the High level, will allow him to be a trainer then a person in charge of the teams in the Olympics of 1992, 1996, 2000, as well as in the Paralympics of 1992, 1996, 2000, on 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008.

A rich experience

At the age of 44, bridegroom and two children, he possesses all the assets to bring to a successful conclusion the federal sports politics in the prospect of the big international terms to come as the next Games of London 2012: trained in the language of the signs, golden medal-holder of the Youth and Sports, Knight of the Academic Palms, Jean Minier also practiced at the international level as President of the International Federation of athletics for persons in wheelchair and amputated (I.W.A.S). From 2000 till 2006 and as member of the executive committee of the International Federation of Paralympic Athletics (I.P.C. section athletics) from 2000 till 2006.

A team of experts

In his task, Jean Minier will be accompanied by 4 experts, named assistant technical directors: Pierrick Giraudeau to manage the pole « sports Excellence », Christophe Carayon in charge of the sector « Competitions », the sector « Development and Young people » will be coordinated by Christian Février, while Cédric Garreau will watch the fates of the pole « Natural sports ». The team is already on the march with the approach of big meetings: the second edition of the National conference of Natural sports (in October 8-11th in Ardèche), the Young Games Snow and Mountain (in January 25-29th in the Drôme) and the Winter paralympics of Vancouver from 12 till 21 March of this year.

Word of the CFFS

The Federal Committee of Football of the Deaf congratulated him for its appointment, is happy to work with him and wishes him the excellent courses within the FFH.
