The death of former President of the French Federation of the Deaf in France

It is with great sorrow that we have just learned the death of our great friend François Cascales, sports enthusiast and a great lover of painting. He was found dead in his home by police, it probably dates from a few days he died of a pulmonary edema, he was sixty seven years.

We, sports leaders, never forget what he did to make us an elite. He was secretary of the ESSP (Currently ESS Vitry), then went to the WSP and became deputy secretary of Peter Maucurier, Secretary General at the request of Mr. Alié.

He gave much to the federal Commissions to weld them and give them importance, not to mention the leagues he is behind. Then he was Chairman following the retirement of Mr Alie, in 1980-1981. He then retired a few years before accepting the post of Secretary-General under the chairmanship of Isabelle Malaurie.

For health reasons, he had completely withdrawn to concentrate on his two hobbies, painting and photography.

In our time, we called the "headhunter" He also brings Jose Vazquez as interpreter and member of the Federal Committee and the latter in turn was also President from 1989 to 1993, Jean Paul Perbost, Marie Therese L'Huillier, Mr Vasselin, Mr. Martineau and still others.

If I had not crossed the path of tennis when I was regularly championships with Marie-Thérèse L'Huillier, and where we had proposed to enter the Federation to advance the status of women, I will not certainly not what I became.
